Autopsy results released Thursday show that a woman and her two young children were stabbed to death Monday at a house on Johnson Street in Manchester.

The state medical examiner determined that Tricia Doyle, 30, was stabbed once and her children, Gillian, 4, and James, 2, were stabbed several times.

Police found the bodies of Doyle and her children when they arrived at 61 Johnson St. Monday night. The house is owned by Christopher Bernard, Doyle's brother.

Bernard was taken to Elliot Hospital on Monday night after he jumped in front of a truck on Interstate 93 a short distance from his home. Bernard was released from the hospital Wednesday, but there are unconfirmed reports that he was then admitted to the state psychiatric hospital in Concord.

Manchester police said the crime scene unit will be on the scene through Friday and perhaps on Saturday. Prosecutors said they want to be especially thorough with the investigation because they are dealing with multiple deaths.

Police have named no suspects and have made no arrests, but they said the public is not in any immediate danger. There is no indication of a motive or why the three went to Bernard's house.

"Mrs. Doyle and her two children went to a family member's house in Manchester," Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Strelzin said. "They went there early in the evening, and then they weren't heard from and were discovered a little after 9 p.m. by Manchester police officers, and when they were found, they were dead."

Both the Doyle and Bernard families had no public comments about the killings.
